This gathering is for families with young children to connect with other local families and share in nature oriented family-centered activities that invite curiosity, creativity, freedom and play.
Join us for an afternoon of adventure and connection at The Coventry Alpaca (& Camel) Farm! Mary, has kindly invited us to come meet all 88 of the alpacas and the 2 huge camels! Oh and did I mention, the 19 year old guard llama!?
Here is the loose playdate schedule:
1-1:15pm Arrive and Settle
1:30pm Welcome Circle with songs, dance, instruments and play
2pm Walk about the farm and meet & learn all about the animals
3pm Share food around the fire
3:45pm Closing Circle
4pm Goodbyes
There is a play set on the property that we have the option to use. Let’s see what feels best for everyone. As we all know, sometimes when there are many children, play sets can cause more upheaval than joy!
What to Bring:
-A dish to share
-Instruments (optional-there are plenty to share)
-Water to drink
-Reusable cutlery, plates/bowls and drinking vessels for yourselves
Dress warmly for outdoor play!
There will be hot cocoa & a campfire to keep us warm.
CALLING ALL COMMUNITY MEMBERS
Do you love spending time with children and families? Are you great at coming up with fun activities or looking to be a part of a beautiful family-centered community? We would love to have you! Join the afternoon in exchange for your helping hands and watchful eyes.
Tasks for helpers are light and include:
-presence
-extra eyes on the children
-support in creating and maintaining appropriate physical boundaries in the space
-help overseeing specific activities
Most importantly, it is about bringing generations together so we can learn from one another, support new families and contribute to a brighter future for humanity. Every family in our community could use a little extra support in one way or another and that is what this space is all about!
